With more than 10 years of experience renovating Oakville kitchens and Burlington bathrooms, we’ve learned a lot. With kitchen and bathroom renovations, there are many points to consider. But perhaps the most important one is quality – and that applies to a number of things.
- Quality in materials: While it may be tempting to make use of sales and deals on materials and appliances, buying quality items (even if they’re more expensive) is worth it. You’ll save yourself the cost of having to replace the items later, and you’ll contribute to a much higher-quality renovation of your kitchen or bathroom. Do some research, compare prices and when you find a quality item that’s worth the price, snap it up!
- Quality in design: If you feel comfortable taking on the design of your new space yourself, excellent! You can also collaborate with your contractor for tips. If you’re a bit unsure about the design, it’s recommended to hire a designer – a professional who understands your vision and can help you create it.
- Quality in contractors: Do your research. You want a home renovation contractor who is insured, experienced, communicative and honest. Look up the company’s reviews to get a sense of what its reputation is, and don’t be afraid to meet with a representative just to talk first, so you can personally get a feel for who they are.
- Quality in workmanship: Of course “a good job” is essential to a successful bathroom renovation or kitchen renovation. Select a company with skilled professionals who have a good amount of experience and who you feel are trustworthy.
